Julietta Favela earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University where she majored in Political Science. During her time at NIU, she worked at Safe Passage, Inc. as a legal advocate intern and received Domestic Battery and Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention training.
Julietta received her Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. As a second year law student, she worked as a mortgage foreclosure extern for Judge Jesse G. Reyes in Chancery Court. She was also an intern licensed to practice law under Illinois Supreme Court rule 711 for the DuPage County Public Defender's Office where she gained invaluable courtroom experience defending indigent clients against domestic battery and assault charges. Julietta was an active member of the Latino Law Student Association at John Marshall and served as their treasurer for two years.
